How long does it take to service a boiler?
There are two types of service. The basic service includes a safety check, flue gas analysis, condensing trap cleaning, and, if present, magnetic filter cleaning. This takes about one hour.
Our comprehensive service includes the above plus main heat exchanger cleaning and replacing all necessary seals. This takes around 2.5 hours.
Should I get my boiler repaired or buy a new one?
This is one we’re asked a lot, and in many cases, the answer is that it’s best to buy a new one, particularly if your boiler is over 20 years old, as it should actually save you money. For more details, please see our boilers page
Can you dispose of my old boiler?
Yes, it’s all part of the service that we dispose of it responsibly and efficiently.
Why do I need to get my gas pipes replaced?
Many gas pipes more than a few years old measure just 15mm and however good condition they may be in, Gas Safe regulations state that all new gas boilers should have 22mm pipes, or even bigger in some cases.
Is there a call-out charge?
Yes, for fault-finding and emergencies. This is £80 during normal days, 9am to 5pm, and £90 outside these hours and at weekends and on bank holidays. There is no call-out charge for installations.

Tell-tale signs include if it’s often switching itself on or off or making banging, knocking or whistling noises, cold spots on the radiators and general poor heating performance.
Is my property suitable for underfloor heating?
If it’s relatively new, yes, thanks to strict regulations about airtightness and insulation. Many older properties are still suitable as well, however.
