Winter months are the most inconvinient time for a boiler to break down and stop working. During Autumn and Winter, gas boilers have to work often on high settings to produce more heat and warm up the house to desired temperatures. They are also responsible for heating the domestic hot water supply.
As appliances are on high settings, they more likely to break down and there can be many reasons why this happen.
A common reason why radiators do not warm up propely or a boiler does not want to start working is a dirty heating system (see photos below).
To prevent this happening our gas engineers always recommends power-flushing the system and installing a magnetic filter. When all the radiators and pipework are clean it is necessary to add an inhibitor.
