First of all you need to find good space to fit it, typically just above or close to a drain. The location also needs to be practical so that you can easily use it when required.
A garden tap is very often located at the back of a house on an external wall close to the kitchen. Under the kitchen sink, there is cold water supply and so water for the new tap can be taken from there.
If you are able to do a bit of DIY and feel confident about plumbing, you can try to do it yourself. How? Simply shut off the main water supply valve, connect a new pipe and install your new tap. Don’t forget to install an isolation valve!
